Today, in honor of our love for all things Fall, and Molasses, we wanted to share our “reason” why, and how these yummy cookies came to be.

May we introduce you to Lisa, and her Molasses cookie story (yeah its a thing!)

The Story
It started when a sweet, elderly gentleman came into Mixin’ It Up looking for Molasses cookies for his lovely wife. He’d gotten them once before at a bakery, and his wife loved them.

Now, needing Gluten free, he stopped by our bakery to request his wives favorite, Molasses. Not just any molasses would do, it has to be chewy, soft, and melt in your mouth good, just the way she remembered.  The sad news, we didnt carry Molasses cookies…yet!

Making this special trip to town just for cookies, was something he felt joy in doing, and seeing his devastation, Lisa, one of our MIU bakers, determined, “I HAVE to do something!”

So she personally took on the task of creating and developing the best possible gluten-free and dairy free, molasses cookie.

Now that gentleman and many other customers enjoy our delicious cookies all year long. Lisa has prided herself on making these (and when she sees her favorite customer pull up in front of the store, you will often see her going out to the car to hand deliver these wonderful little sweet treats!)
